LGBTQIA+ Co-Op Living
Fall 2021
B. Arch
After the pandemic, numbers of LGBTQ+ eviction rose significantly. This project centers around this community, aiming to use a co-op model as a solution. In mapping out demographics, I found that most people would require an individual space, so I created levels of public and private to provide inhabitants with a large sense of family despite having a majority of single bedrooms. This building includes a gallery area that can be converted into an event venue, counseling rooms, and studio areas. I also did research on passive cooling strategies, focusing on thermal control.
